Criteria for KOA Employee of the Year Award
KOA OA
CRITERIA:
- The Employee of the Year nominee must have worked for you in the most recent season and can be either a summer month (seasonal) or full-time employee. This nominee can either be a Work Kamper or an Employee.
- The Employee of Year nominee demonstrates loyalty to the KOA Organization by choice of campgrounds at which they work.
- The Employee of the Year nominee demonstrates outstanding customer skills per the “Making It Great” Program and one who goes above and beyond on the campground, is a team player and gets along well with their peers. The Employee of the Year nominee demonstrates positive energy and attitude proving to be an asset to the campground atmosphere.
The KOA Employee of the Year award winner will receive a plaque, along with a $500 VISA gift card!
Timeline for KOA OA Awards:
- Submissions for both the KOA Employee of the Year and We Are Family awards are Monday, October 2, 2023 by 5 pm EST.
- Award recipients are chosen by the KOA OA Selection Committee.
- Recipients will be notified by Wednesday, October 11, 2023 and awards will be presented at the 2023 KOA Convention, along with the VISA gift card. If the winner is not attending Convention, winnings will be mailed.

You may also type out your nomination and mail it to our KOA OA Office at PO Box 228, Ettrick, WI 54627.
Ask yourself these questions when considering nominating some for the KOA Employee of the Year:
- How long had the Employee worked for you and your campground?
- What do you feel is their greatest customer service skill?
- At check-in, are they friendly and helpful to the camper/do they escort the camper to their site and ensure that everything is ok?
- Are they alert to the needs of the campers and respond quickly?
- When they are working with their peers, do they maintain a friendly and helpful attitude?
- Do they offer assistance to a co-worker when they see the need?
- Do they show good work ethic?
- Do they check in on time?
- Complete the assigned task in a timely manner?
- Work well independently as well as in a group?
- Exhibits a cheerful attitude always?
- Responds appropriately to an emergency?
- How well do they deal with difficult campers?
- Have your campers complimented this Employee to you personally or in writing?
