One of the reasons I value being a member of the KOA Owners Association is for the collective voice it gives franchisees to KOA, Inc when there is a suggestion for change. The Waitlist Enhancement update is a perfect example. One voice is heard, but a collective voice yields results.
As an individual franchisee, I had some suggestions that would make the Waitlist function of K2 more effective and efficient for all campgrounds. I did what we are all told to do and sent a request to the K2 help desk
([email protected]) for a K2 enhancement. This email was sent on 8/5/2021 outlining detailed examples of ways the waitlist should be improved.
1. Chane the expirato chate mutiple sit aris or a specife site for the waitist entry.
- Order the list by arrival date AND then the date the entry was received.
- Add the ability to make a note on the waitlist entry and same time the entry is made.
- Add the note icon to the waitlist entry similar to a reservation note.
After a year had passed, I reached out to K2 help desk again on 8/05/2022 to ask the status of the requests and was told that it was on the list, but not a priority because not enough campgrounds were asking for this change. Therefore, at the 2022 Convention Area Meeting, I presented the suggestions as a formal resolution approved by my Area and later approved by the KOA Owners Association Board for submission as a Formal Resolution to KOA, Inc at their February 2023 Board meeting.
As a direct result of the formal Resolution process developed by the KOA Owners Association and the support from several 0A members, my request was finally addressed by KOA, Inc and the Waitlist Enhancement was included in the July 18, 2023, K2 Release. This enhancement helps ALL KOA owners in the entire system.
